Young Royal Greek Torso (1200-0735)
by Currey
Though the Young Royal Greek Torso looks as if it has survived since ancient times, it is actually made of composite and inspired by a museum piece that was a valuable antique. The skill of the artisans who created it is evident, not only in how the broken areas are so convincing but in the aged-beige finish that fools the eye into thinking it is carved from stone. The beige sculpture is fastened to a black metal base, whish is also museum-style.
